Bloom Vinyl
Branding | Packaging | Photography Packaging
A vinyl album design exploring themes of vulnerability, self-love, and personal growth through a serene, nature-driven visual language. Inspired by the emotional evolution of SZA, the concept Bloom translates introspective R&B into a tactile, immersive aesthetic. The exterior uses organic materials—coffee grounds to form the artist’s name and distress the surface—evoking dirt and grass, while the interior reveals a vibrant, kaleidoscopic arrangement of artificial flowers. This contrast creates a narrative experience, where the act of opening the vinyl mirrors the process of growth, shifting from muted, grounded tones to a moment of visual “bloom.” Through texture, materiality, and composition, the design reflects quiet transformation and emotional depth.
Process
The process began with sketching and material exploration, focusing on how natural elements could communicate growth beyond literal imagery. Early concepts relied heavily on floral visuals, but through critique, the direction shifted toward a more tactile, symbolic approach. I experimented with layering materials like coffee grounds and paper to build texture and depth, refining composition and contrast between the muted exterior and vibrant interior. The final design was assembled by hand, creating a cohesive visual narrative that unfolds as the vinyl is opened.
