Meanwhile Fashion Magazine

A couture fashion magazine inspired by the surreal world of Twin Peaks, translating its visual dualities into a high-fashion editorial narrative. The project explores identity as a shifting performance between reality and dream, using fashion as a language of transformation. Beginning with a tactile mood board of fabrics, textures, and imagery, the concept Meanwhile was developed to contrast the grounded atmosphere of the woods with the theatrical intensity of the Black Lodge. Through a series of test shoots experimenting with lighting, styling, and location, the visual direction was refined before producing the final spreads, in which contrasting materials and environments guide the narrative throughout the publication.

Process

I began by building a tactile mood board to establish the visual direction and narrative. I sourced clothing and accessories through a mix of thrift stores, the prop closet, and my own wardrobe, assembling looks that reflected the two contrasting worlds of the editorial. I then found and directed my own model while also handling the hair, makeup, styling, and photography for each shoot. After experimenting with lighting and location to develop the imagery, I designed the magazine spreads and hand-crafted the final publication by printing, cutting, scoring, and assembling the pages into a physical magazine.
